Water, Dust and Concrete in Arizona City

Arizona City is one of the drier spots in the area, with a little over five inches of rain in an average year. The catch is how it falls. Much of the community lies in a floodplain, and summer monsoon storms can bring flash flooding.

That makes drainage the first thing to think about with any new slab. A patio or driveway should sit and slope so storm water runs past it, not under it or toward the house. Where a lot is low, the grading around the slab can matter as much as the concrete.

Dust storms are common too, helped along by the farmland nearby. They are a nuisance during a pour, and work is scheduled around the weather for that reason.

Many homes here sit empty for part of the year. If you are away in summer, a settled slab or a failed joint can go unnoticed through a whole monsoon season, so it is worth a walk around the concrete when you return.

What Affects the Cost of Concrete Work in Arizona City

The quote for an Arizona City job depends on the area being poured, how thick and how reinforced the slab needs to be, any removal, how the concrete reaches the spot and the finish. A pad for a heavy RV is built to a different standard than a walkway, and that shows in the price.

Ask any concrete contractor to explain what is included. Call 520-654-5943 to get a free quote.

Questions From Arizona City Homeowners

I am only here in winter. Can the work be done while I am in town?

Winter and the months on either side are a popular time for concrete work, for that reason and because the weather suits it. Call early in your stay so there is room to look at the job and plan it.

Who handles approvals in Arizona City?

Arizona City is unincorporated, so questions about what needs approval go to Pinal County. If your property has an HOA or deed restrictions, check those as well.

My yard floods in big storms. Can concrete help?

Concrete can direct water when it is graded with that goal, and it can make flooding worse when it is not. Describe where water collects when you call, so drainage is part of the plan from the start.

About Arizona City

Arizona City is an unincorporated community in southwestern Pinal County, about midway between Phoenix and Tucson. It was founded in 1959. Sunland Gin Road connects it to Interstate 8 and Interstate 10, which meet about three miles to the north. Paradise Lake, a man-made lake of 48 acres, sits in the southern part of town, and the Arizona City Golf Course opened in 1963. The population grows by several thousand in the winter months.

We also work in Eloy and Coolidge.
